The influences of manufacturing processes on the specific iron loss of amorphous alloy material have been investigated in this paper. It is shown that the iron loss superiority of amorphous alloy motor will be constrained by the manufacturing processes. The iron loss characteristics of amorphous alloy cores deteriorate a lot after solidifying, whereas the annealing process could reduce the iron loss of wound amorphous alloy cores. For the amorphous alloy cores without annealing process, the loss increasing caused by solidifying is mainly the eddy current loss component while it is mainly the hysteresis loss component for annealed amorphous alloy cores.
