Surface morphologies of CP Ti and Ti-0.5Nb-0.5Si alloy oxidized at 650 °C for 100 h are shown in the figure a and b, respectively. There exist pores on both of the oxidized surfaces, which provide paths for oxygen diffusion and accelerate oxidization of Ti matrix.
